Running Scheduled Tasks

Can anyone tell me whether there is a way to force a Scheduled Task to run
automatically at next boot-up (or some other time when the system is running)
if the PC is turned off when the scheduled time occurs?
I'm running WinXP (SP3) on a stand-alone desktop.

Only with some extra scripting or with third-party tools.

Thank you very much for this. (I suspected it may be something like this.)
Could you by any chance, easily point me to such a "third-party tool"? I
don't want to waste your time but I can't seem to find any.

Try Google. I typed this into a Google search box

"Task Scheduler" missed events

and got more than 6,000 hits. Some on the first page looked very promising.

Thank you VERY much. This was a goldmine suggestion - and I think I found
what I need. I'm most grateful for your kind help. Blessings!

Just to close this thread I thought I'd give you the concluding info. I
settled on a program called "System Scheduler" ($30 for the Pro version)
which does all the same things as Task Scheduler - and throws in a few
extras. Such as 'Run on startup (or logon) if missed'... the very thing I
needed. I simply disabled all the Task Scheduler programs, transferred them
to the replacement program - and the job was done! I've now been using SS
for 3 days and it works just fine.
Thank you again for all your help with this.

Thanks for this very useful piece of info - I've made a note of it. I wish
more posters would take the time to close their threads properly. Most take
all the free advice they can get, then drop the whole thing, usually without
acknowledging the help they have received.
