Running Repair module XP home

Trying to repair friends Sony vaio that only has recover disk for complete or
app reinstall. No way to run Repair from this. Can I use my XP Home w/sp2 to
run repair on his system.

I don't think that a Sony product and a Microsoft product would be
compatible. Whats wrong with your friends computer?

He had numerous spyware and viruses which after running different removal
tools the system is no longer running properly and all networking drivers are
corrupted non functioning even after reinstalling the drivers.

No, you cannot. The install types do not match for a repair install. You
can, however, use your CD for the Recovery Console.

Then back up the data and use the disks that came with the system. That
will be the quickest and most reliable way to fix this.

Thanks for the info, will do the recovery thing I guess it will be less
complicated
