Running Outlook 2003 but Office 2002

Jan Agermose

Hi

A user is running Outlook 2002 and just upgraded Outlook to Outlook
2003, but still "only" Office 2002.

Now, if the user writes a document in Word and presses "send as email"
he is prompted

translated from danish:
"Word was unable to read the email envolope. This might be due to
network problems or the Office intallation".

The upgrade of Outlook is done as part of a move from POP3 accounts to
Exchange 2003.

Windows XP

Any ideas?

Best regards

For these type of actions Word and Outlook need to be the same version.
Another this that now isn't possible anymore is to use Word as the e-mail
editor.

You have got to be kidding? Then you cannot do mailmerges and the likes
just because you upgraded Outlook?

No kidding. This is because the tight integration of the Office
applications. Outlook is used for the e-mail functionality in the other
Office applications and for the Office applications being able to "talk" to
eachother they have to be the same version.
