Running 32bit windows xp pro on a dual core 64bit intel P4....

I have recently upgraded to a 64bit dual core intel P4 pc with 2gigs of ram
and hefty graphics card.. .
Does running windows XP pro(32bit) on this system cause slower performance
of this machine?
I mean it seems that my new pc runs slower than my previous 32bit machine.
If any negative affects...what are they and can i get around then without
running windows XP64???
Your comments will be hugely appretiated.
thanks

It should not be any slower than your previous machine, provided it
had a slower CPU clock speed.

But you really need to do some timed benchmark comparisons on the two
machines to see if it really is slower. And to get the real benefit
of the 64 bit CPU you should be running the 64 bit version of Windows,
except that there are driver availability issues for many items with
64 bit Windows.

Good luck
