Rundll32 "not responding" when shutting down

Jose

When I shut down or restart Win XP (home edition) I get
a "ending program" dialog for rundll32. If I don't
hit "end now" it goes on to the "program not responding"
dialog and I have to hit "end now" to complete the
shutdown. This started recently when I had to reinstall
Windows after a system crash (probably caused by
overheating of the processor). Any ideas as to why this
is happening and what to do about it?
Thanks,
JAS

to delete it. I have to press "ok" in order to continue
