run time version

I

iccsi

I would like distribute my applicaitons to some user without MSAccess.
I just wonder that are there any run time version that my users can
download to install and run my applications.

If yes, what are the cost for run time version?

Your information is great appreciated,

For Access 2007, the run time is free.

There was a cost for previous versions.

You'll need to ensure that your application is built to work with the
run-time, though.

It is now free.

I have an article on the runtime here:

http://www.members.shaw.ca/AlbertKallal/RunTime/Index.html

The link for the "sample" download is broken and I will fix that later this
evening.

However, the above should much cover most considerations of the runtime for
you...

Thanks for the link.
As you mentioned that Access 2007 run time version is free.
I have Access 2003 to develop my application.
Can Access 2007 run time version to ru Access 2003 database
application?
Usually, MS Access application does recognize previous version.
Please let me know if I am wrong.

Thanks again,

You can do this. I would test carefully. Only you can decide if that time of
testing and working this out is worth more then the cost of upgrading to
ms-access 2007. note that to upgrade to access 2007 it is only $109, so you
have to decide which approach is gong to be more worth your time...

However, there is a number of posters here that are building in 2003 but
deploying to 2007.

I have Access 2003 Professional.
I heard that Access 2003 Professional version can distribute run time
version.
Am I right?

While there is a runtime available for Access 2003, it doesn't come with
Office 2003 Professional. It came with Visual Studio 2005 Tools for Office
(or Visual Studio 2003 Tools for Office). Unfortunately, Microsoft doesn't
sell either of those tools anymore, so you may have a problem finding it.
