Run Command Line Missing

G

Guest

The Run Command is checked (Start Button/Properties/Customize/Advanced/Run
Command) but the run comand line is still missing. I have ran "Restore the
Run Command (Line 57) from http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm and
it still doesn't appear. Does anyone have any other ideas? What is crazy is
if I place it in "Classic Start Menu" than "run" is there but I can't get it
to appear in "Windows XP Start Menu". Please help if you have any
suggestions. Thanks, Dot

Note that you have to restart the computer after applying Kelly's
registry tweak.
Does anyone have any other ideas?

As a workaround, copy the lines between the dashed lines to the
clipboard and paste them into the text editor (Notepad):

===========================================================
dim objShell
set objShell = CreateObject("Shell.Application")
objShell.FileRun
set objShell = nothing

===========================================================

Save the file as "Run.vbs" and create a shortcut.

Thanks for your speedy reply. I rebooted my PC after running Kellys tweak.
I also ran your suggested "run.vbs" and rebooted. Sorry but I still do not
have the Run command. Any other ideas? Thanks, dot

I forgot to say Thank You. Your work around did bring up a Run Command from
the shortcut but is there anyway to get it on my start menu and not have to
run the run.vbs to get it? Thanks again, Dot

Thanks for all your assistance. I have checked all the paths that you
provided but the Run Command Line still doesn't appear. The "Remove Run menu
from start menu" was already set to Not configured. The NoRun value under
Curent user was already set to "0". I can live with the Windows key + the R
key to open Run, but it was driving me crazy not knowing why it won't show in
the start menu. What do you think changed this setting? Thanks, dot

I do not know.

The policy is not in affect or Win key + R would not work.
