"Run as admin" Has No effect

Right click any program and choose "Run as admin", nothing happens.
Why?
The only way to run as admin is to set its property in Properties dialog.
Help please.

Hi,

Could you elaborate a little more?
On my machine I just installed PHP5 under IIS7, and I had to 'run as
admin' a few times, without problems.
In my case I had to launch Textpad (as Admin) to edit a file php.ini
under the inetpub-tree.

What program are you trying to run?
And are you logged in THE Admin, or are you 'only' in the Admin group?

Hi

I mean when i try to run a program through windows shell command "run as
admin" then the program will not start.
For example, i right click WinRAR and then from the pop up context menu
choose "Run as administrator", then... nothing happens, even the dialog,
which asks you whether allow running this program, does not appear.
If i really wanna run WinRAR as admin, the only choice is to go the
Properties dialog(right click->Properties) and check the "Run as
administrator" checkbox.
I hope these details are helpful to you.

Best regards

Problem solved!
It's all about ATI Tray Tool's Windows shell integration.
After remove it, all those things return to normal.

Good you solved it.
Can we conclude this ATI tool screws up the shell?

It's seems hard to reproduce this bug.
But what i use is the beta version.
I really hope ATI Tray Tool guys can fix this bug in the final release.
