Rules not working after restoring mailbox

Client side rules are not working after restoring an email box. The rules are
based upon the sender email address. They seem to work for internal email,
but not external email.

Running Exchange 2003 with Outlook 2007.

I have read of similar issues, but no fixes.

Thanks
David

The pointers to records or objects in the old rules are not matching
up with their IDs for the new mailbox. It even happens for an
existing mailbox (i.e., the user gets an error that a rule won't run).
The only way I've gotten the rule to work is to create a new rule,
follow the old rule as a template, and then delete the old rule after
the new one has been defined. Then all objects defined in the rule
have the proper IDs under the new mailbox. Yeah, a pain when there
are lots of rules.

We have removed all the rules and recreated them with the same results. Even
ran the /cleanallrules switch to remove them all. Still have the same results.

Thanks

Never heard of a /cleanallrules command-line switch. There is
/cleanclientrules, /cleanserverrules, and /cleanrules (for server- and
client-side rules).

You could try renaming the .pst file, starting Outlook, and have it
create a new .pst file.

When looking at the headers in the e-mail received at the end user,
has the e-mail address for the sender been modified?

Are the "From sender" rules using the "from <sender>" clause or the
"with <specificwords> in sender's address" clause?
