rule in Outlook 2003 to delete messages older than a certain date

I have a folder in my inbox which contains auto-generated emails from a
server which are directed there by a rule.

I want another rule to do this;
"delete all messages in folder which are older than 10 days"

Sorry, if it seems a little terse, I'm not used to this forum.

The question is how do I make such a rule?

You need to use the AutoArchive function. Start by reading Help files on
it. It is at Tools | Options | Other tab | Autoarchive.

You can set it to delete stuff in your folder which are older than x days.
Please note that the age of the item is based on Date Last Modified - not
date received/sent etc.
