Lee

Hello;

I am trying to create a simple rule that will take any
mail from a particular domain and put in into an inbox
folder I created. I am chossing the rule template "from
people or distribution list" The question is
choosing "people or dist list" I can choose from gal or
contact list. How can I choose an external domain.
Thanks

Hi Lee,

Thank you for posting here!

From the log, it seems that you are configuring Outlook rule to redirect
mails from specific domain to one Outlook folder. If I misunderstood the
issue, feel free to let me know.

To do this, I'd recommend you to try the following steps:

1. Add an entry for the specific sender you want to block to the Contacts
folder in Outlook.
2. Click Tools (menu) -> Rules Wizard.
3. Click the new button.
4. Highlight the "Check Messages when they arrive" option.
5. Check "containing adult content or from 'Adult Content Senders'", edit
the Adult Content Senders by adding some domain name such as xxx.com.
6. Click Next, check "move it o the specified folder"
7. Click the Finish button to finish creating this rule.

The email which is sent from a specific email domain will be sent to the
specified folder after they arrive.

Hi Jack;

I thnak you for your reply. Yes you are correct that is
exactly what I want to do.

Pleasse clarify item 1. I'm not sure what you mean by
adding a sender I want to block. I am not trying to block
anyone, only redirect mail from a specific domain to a
folder
Please clarify number 5 as I do not see an adult content
option.

Thanks

Lee

Hi Lee,

Thank you for your reply.

Item 1 in my initial response should say "filter" instead of "block" since
you want to capture the emails from one specific domain. In the reply, you
mentioned that you did not see the "Adult Content Senders" option. Is it
true that you are using Outlook 2003 program, not Outlook 2000/2002
versions?

In Outlook 2003, the Junk E-mail Filter feature is on by default and the
protection level is set to Low, which is designed to catch the most obvious
junk e-mail messages. We do not have the similar "Adult Content Senders" in
Outlook 2003. The filter does not single out any particular sender or type
of e-mail message. The filter is based on the content of the message in
general and uses advanced analysis of the message structure to determine
the probability that it is a junk e-mail message.

You may try to add the domain in the Blocked Senders List and change the
Junk E-mail Filter settings level to "No Automatic Filtering." This way,
the mails from the blocked senders are still moved to the Junk E-mail
folder. To change the level of junk email protection, open Outlook, and
click Actions->Junk E-mail->Junk E-mail Options. Under Options tab, choose
the protection level you want, click OK.

If you are working with Exchange 2000/2003 Server, I'd recommend you to try
the Filter Junk Mail feature on server end. Please check the following link:

XADM: How to Filter Junk Mail in Exchange 2000

- Use the Sender option to manage filtered e-mail addresses. Messages are
archived to the following directory: exchange install
point\exchsrvr\mailroot\vsi#\filter
