Routing and remote access service

I need to start the Routing and Remote Access Service but
it doesn't start.
When i try to start it, the message "Windows could not
start the Routing and Remote Access on Local Computer"
appears.

I've already installed the NetBIOS Interface and RPC
components because the Routing and Remote Access Service
depends on them.

Do I need other components?

Max,

Check if you have also got "Netbios Driver" component. Most likely you have
it in your configuration as a dependency of the NetBIOS Interface component.

Also, you will need "Connection Manager Runtime" component in your build.

Check if you see any RAS related errors in system/application logs.

I posted a list of components required for RRAS a while ago:
http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=...f=1&[email protected]

If it still does not help, search in the archive:

KM,

Thank for your suggests, but it doesn't start.

In the System Event Log i haven't messages related to
Routing and remote access.
The only errors I see are:
1) Event ID 877, Source:Application Popup
Database Open Failed
2) Event ID 877, Source:Application Popup
Database Open Failed

In the Application Event Log I see:
1) Event ID 1041, Source:Userenv

I don't know if this messages are related to my problem.

Do you have other suggests?

Install this QFE:

Or include manually drvmain.sdb from XPe Repository to your
image/configuration. This is help with the some event descriptions.

I don't know either. Pershaps here you may find the answer:

I suppose you have included all the components I mentioned including the
ones from the link, right?
Thn only suggestion I have is to use Regmon/Filemon tool (www.sysinternals
..com) to see what's missing.
Sorry for pretty routine reply but I don't see what could be the problem on
your end.

KM

Leonid,

Glad to hear that. That means the list was helpful and we can definitely refer to it later on.
