Rounding problems

maureen.windridge

I use excell to calculate the 18% tax deduction required
for construction workers and then subtract this from the
gross pay to achieve the net.

If the 18% tax calculation ivolves rounding (I have the
cells formatted as accounting, no currency symbol and two
decimal places)the subsequent subtraction can give a net
pay which is somtimes a penny out.

I know this is not a lot but it looks unprofesional.

Can anyone help

Hi Maurren,
your format does not alter the internal representation of the tax
value. If you really want to Round you should use ROUND in your tax
deduction column:
=ROUND(Gross_pay_cell*0,18,2)
