Rotate Pictures in Explorer on Network Drive

B

Brandon

Running Win XP Pro. When rotating pictures on a
networked computer using right-click, then "Rotate
(Counter)Clockwise", I receive a message that I cannot
rotate the image because it might be in use, etc. But it
is not in use. If I go into Preview, then use the rotate
arrows, it will rotate fine with no error message, but
upon closing the Preview, the file hasn't changed. How
can I rotate a picture from a networked computer other
than the one the file is stored on?

Hi Brandon,

First, do you have write permissions on this network share? If so, then you
should be able to rotate the images. Open up the Windows Picture and Fax
Viewer, then while holding down the CTRL key, click the X button. This will
reset any warnings that may have been suppressed. Now try rotating again
and see if you get any warnings.

Let us know how that goes.

Hi,
I have the same problem as Brandon. I have write/read access on the network drive.. can create, erase and modify.. but not rotate.
I did the Ctrl+start the program and then closed it and it told me that it have reset the warnings.. but the next try to rotate i still get the same error..

What is happening?
