Root web errors (FP2002)

Please help!

The root web of my site has suddenly started refusing to
let me save files. When I try to save a change, it gives
me a "server error: cannot create filename.htm" error
popup.

All the subwebs seem to be behaving normally. I've done a
recalculate on the root web and checked server extensions
on the entire site. I rebooted the server, and
permissions on the wwwroot folder show my user group
having full control both in FrontPage and Windows Explorer.

Still, I can't save any changes or even change a file
attribute (such as setting publish/not publish).

Any ideas? I'm desperate!

Have you run a check and fix or server health check on the site?

also check if you have exceeded your limit for site file size.
