Root DNS server: deleting "." forward lookup zone

D

dsmcd

Hello...

Apparently, one of my servers was configured as a root dns
server. There's a "." zone. This is interfering with me
setting up a forward lookup zone for our new intranet.

As far as I can tell, I can safely and simply delete the
"." zone with no other consequences other than allowing
other forward zones. Is this true?

If so, does this require a reboot?

Thanks in advance,
D.

No problem. You might have a look at article 298148. Restart DNS-server.
