Rollover buttons

Can anybody tell me if there is an easy way to get rollover buttons from
photoshop/imageready into frontpage 2002. I have the button working in image
ready but when I import it I only get the original graphic even though when I
save in frontpage it lists 5 graphics.

Just build the rollover in FP. It's quite simple. Place your "up" button
on the page, and apply an image swap behavior to it to swap in the "over"
image onMouseOver.

Sorry, I didn't even now that FP could read a PS or IR layered file. The way
I have done it is to use the interactive button in FP to build the rollovers
then replace those images (once you go though the difficult and laborious
process of building them in FP) with your saved images from Photoshop. FP
needs some serious attention as far as working with industry standard
programs such as Photoshop if it is EVER going to be considered as a viable
option for serious web designers(which I doubt is in their agenda, it doesn't
seem to be about good design..more like putt putt for golfers). I have been
pulling my hair trying to get an efficient workflow in FP and it just isn't
there...God forbid you have to make any changes after your design is
done...it is just like starting all over again. The more I use it, the
more I hate it!

Put FP down for a month, or more. Learn HTML and CSS in that time. Then
come back. You'll see whether it would be usable by serious developers.

FP will never be able to read a PS or IR layered file, just like it will
never be able to read a CAD file. But if you use PS or IR to create an HTML
page, FP can read that for sure....

IMO: A serious web designer doesn't rely on themes, shared borders, or the FP navigation component.

PhotoShop is a industry standard for the print world, and mainly used by those that came from a
graphic art or advertising background and most worked on Macs at some point in their career.

I use Photoshop and FP with no problems, not sure what your complaint is there.

I also make many many changes without 'starting all over again'.

How long have you been working with Photoshop and/or FP ?

That would be great advice if my goal were to be a full time web designer,
which it is not. I just need to create a web page here and there. Not
generally for clients but for myself, my wife and maybe a friend or two.

The CAD analogy doesn't really apply here...people don't design web pages in
CAD whereas I would venture to say that millions of them have been designed
in Photoshop.

Having said that I would also say that I probably should have kept my little
rant to myself. Other than the fact that a little interoperability would be
nice.

Not picking any fights...your advice to learn HTML and CSS is good advice.
I am just a "visual" person and have a hard time with coding stuff.
Which is why my full time job is 3D Animation and Video production.

Agreed... I bought FP because I thought it would be an easy way to step into
HTML...I never realised it woud be so difficult to integrate work from PS. I
am starting to figure out ways to accomplish it though...it just requires a
different process than I had originally envisioned...gotta jump out of that
box!

While I have worked on a MAC in the past, my 5 machines are all PCs. And I
would say that Photoshop is an industry standard for the Print, Video,
Animation as well as Web Design worlds.

You miss the point, though Curtis. FP cannot open a PS file because that's
just not how things work. FP reads and writes HTML markup. PS produces
graphic files. If you want to get your graphic from PS into FP then you
would have to export it from PS as an HTML file. FP will then read that
file fine.

Rob,
I am just now figuring out ways to integrate the two together. If you know
of any tuts I would love to see them. As I have stated in each of my posts I
am a newbie to FP and HTML so I am just working through some of this stuff.

I am a longtime PS user for animation and video though.
