rollback mdac from 2.7rtm to 2.5sp3

i have a new laptop, windows 2000 pro sp4, and has mdac
2.7rtm. i am trying to install sql 7 and it is hanging
without completion. from reading mdac notes, 2.7 does not
run with sql 7. can i roll back to 2.5 (and will this work
with sql 7). if so, how do i accomplish rollback to this
version to install 2.5

Hi

It is only a clustered installation of SQL Server 7.0 or 6.5 that
doesn't support MDAC 2.7:

MDAC 2.6 or Later Should Not Be Installed on SQL Server 7.0 Clusters

A MDAC upgrade can't be uninstalled, so you will need to do a repair install
of the OS (or a full reinstall) to be able to go back to MDAC 2.5.
