Roaming Profile

I havce 26 WinXP Pro workstations and Win2000 Domain. Would like to have
any user logon at any workstion and get the same settings no matter where
they are logged on. Is there a good web resource I can look this info up
on? I have heard that roaming profiles are complex. Thanks in advance

Roaming Profiles are the way to go. Watch out for My Documents and Desktop
in the profile - users typically save documents in both locations and in a
default roaming profile configuration these folders are both included in the
profile and therefore download and upload from the server every time a users
logs on and off.

Consider using Redirected Folders to redirect My Documents to a network
location (you can do the same for Desktop); you can also use Group Policy to
exclude directories from the roaming profile - Local Settings and Temporary
Internet Files are excluded by default.

You want to keep the actual roaming profile as small as possible to keep the
logon and logoff process as fast as possible, especially if you have any WAN
links.
