Rmt. Asst. "...remote host name could not be resolved"

Rick

I have 2 PCs: one in Charlotte (Clt) connected to cable,
the other in Atlanta (Atl) connected to DSL. Both run
WinXP Prof. and are stand-alone workstations (no
networks). The Clt PC can access the Atl PC after it
receives a Remote Assistance (RA) invitation. However,
the problem exists when the Atl PC is trying to assist
the Clt PC. The following warning ! appears, "Remote
assistance connection could not be established because
the remote host name could not be resolved." Any help is
greatly appreciated. Thanks to all. :) -Rick

I have a similar problem. We connected just fine the first time. The
"novice" is on a dial-up, I'm on a cable connection. We were connected
for about an hour, then I did a "hide" on the left side window because it
took up so much space and wham, both screens went dark. We tried to
re-connect several times after that and kept getting the message "remote
host name could not be resolved - please try again" after I answered the
novice's request for help.
Any help is much appreciated. Both are using Windows XP Home version.

I connected to a friend this morning (novice) the first time with no
problems. We lost the connection after I tried to Hide the left frame
(don't know if that is what caused the connection to be lost).
After that, we tried quite a few times and were not able to re-connect.
We kept getting the error message "could not resolve host name...try
again" (same message as below).
We both rebooted, etc. but have not been able to reconnect again. All
Windows Updates applied, etc. She doesn't have the Windows Messenger/.NET
options set up, so we weren't able to use that method.
Any help is much appreciated!
Thanks :)
