Hi Jona..

I run a website with an open source software listing - among them are
http://www.osalt.com/mplayer

Eventhough it initially looks just like a player only - it actually is
also able to convert from one format to another. And Real's formats are
supported.

I hope this help you.

best regards,

mmmm .... command line.
Though I'm not entirely unfamiliar with commandline computing
(DOS), I'd need to spend some time on this one to eventually
start processing one or more conversions. Right now, those
rm's need to be converted in a hurry so I've set aside the
download for a rainy day.
Thanks for your help.

You didnt tell me you wanted something small :)

You could also try this that is small... Real7ime Converter
http://r7cproj.euro.ru/indexe.htm

you drag and drop the RM file on to the program window and it converts it.
It converts in real time, this means that if the media file is 2 hours it
will need 2 hours to convert it. Mediacoder on the other hand is more
complex and can do batch conversions fast.
