Right Click -> Save Picture As -> only lets me select Bitmap

When I right click to save a picture, the only "Save As
Type:" it shows is Bitmap (*.bmp). This problem occurs
when I'm trying to save .jpg and .gif picture files using
Internet Explorer 6.0. What can I do to save a .jpg
as .jpg?

Clear your cache:
Internet Options-->Delete Files-->OK-->then exit and open
a new browser window and see if that works, if it
does/doesn't post back
