Right click not working on start menu

Hi everyone,

I am trying to alphabetize my programs on my start menu
in WinXP Pro SP-1, and the "help" menu tells me to just
right click any program on the menu and select something
like "put in name order" or some such thing. Problem is,
when I right click on anything on my start menu, I don't
get a menu.

I used to administer a network at my old office, and I
always used to right click "My Computer" and
hit "properties" to do things like assign the correct
domain or change the computer's name, but on the computer
I have now, I don't even get a menu by right clicking "My
Computer".

Anybody have any idea how to correct this?

FWIW, I do have administrator privileges, and have tried
rebooting...

Many thanks.

Control Panel (classic view)> Taskbar & Start Menu Settings> Start Menu>
Customize Advanced. Add check in box next to "Enable dragging and
dropping." Click OK.

Disabling this option removes the ability to organize the start menu by
dragging and dropping. It also disables right click menus in a few areas.
