Right click menus for desktop icons

Felix Oscar

I once installed WPFTP and then got rid of it, but there's still an
item for it when I right click on most desktop icons. Is there a way
to delete it, and to edit these menus in general?

Hi Felix,

We can remove the item by modifying Registry.

Note: Since modifying registry improperly will cause serious damage to the
system,
please follow the steps below strictly to avoid any potential damage.

1. Click Start, click Run, type REGEDIT, and click OK.

2. In Registry Editor, go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
..

3. Before we make any changes to the keys, please left click to select the
folder
which contains the keys.

4. Click Export under the File menu, type filename for this backup registry,
and
click Save. In this way, we may double click on the saved file to restore
the old
values later.

5. Check to find the item related to the programs you want to remove.

6. Delete the subkey (remember not to delete the ContextMenuHandlers key,
just the
related subkey). For example, if you do not want to see WinRAR related items
in the
context menu, delete the WinRAR subkey under ContextMenuHandlers.

7. Repeat step 2-6 on the following key:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
