Right Click in Explorer causes hang

Windows XP,
- right click the start menu OR a folder in explorer
- causes a hang for 80 seconds
Disable workstation service and all is ok.
No mapped drivers/printers/mail/AV/no unplugeed hardware
No offline folders/removable drives
Tried windows restore/new hdd/nic/unplugging CD/windows
update/

Any ideas? PLEASE!!!

Have you added any extra codecs for sound/video/pictures
recently?
If you added the ACE mega codecs pack, in particular, that
could be the problem. Two items included are not compatible
with windows. these are ASPI layer installer. Windows media
player classic (v6.0). Uninstall ace mega codecs if you have
it and reinstall, using custom as install type. Choose only
the options you really need. There are no descriptions of
items, so I just install Lame mp3, Fraunhoffer, and about
half a dozen others needed for dvd and special pic /video
rendering.
