Right-click desktop, background problems

After a big problem wit malware/virus and all of that, I have some problems
in my desktop. My computer is clean now, I used all the tools and there is no
threats, but

* Right-clicking in the desktop doesn't do anything.
* Right-clicking in te icons doesn't do anything.
* All the Options in Display Properties/Desktop are grey.
* Changes in Themes doesn't work, goes always to Modified Theme.

How can I fix this?

Thank you.

This is the same problem i am experiencing after a virus attack, but i am to
simple to understand your explanation on the google groups link. I've found
the "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\ActiveDesktop
-and-
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\ActiveDesktop"

but i am unsure what to do with these now, any more assistance? Pretty Please!

Please describe the problem you're experiencing.

From that link:
Open Regedit and navigate to:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\ActiveDesktop
-and-
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\ActiveDesktop

*Backup the keys to separate REG files*
Then, delete all the values you see in the right-pane, that have a value of
1.

Navigate to:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
Backup the keys.
Delete the values "Wallpaper" and "WallPaperStyle" in the right-pane.

I am experiencing the same problem as the original user.

I dont know how to "*Backup the keys to separate REG files*", but just
deleting the ones you have detailed has solved the problem. is the fact i did
not back up the reg files going to cause any problems?
