"Reviewing" toolbar appears automatically?

Using Excel 2002, the reviewing toolbar seems to suddenly
appear after x-number of spreadsheets being opened up. I
will typically open up numerous spreadsheets from
different people, but consistently performing the same
steps/tasks on each file. I do not keep more than one file
open at any given time. Is this an automated feature of
Excel 2002?
