Reuse Slides feature in PowerPoint 2007 removes all font formattin

I am attempting to insert slides from one PowerPoint presentation into
another using the "Reuse Slides" feature in PowerPoint 2007. After browsing
to my file, the slides show up in the right hand sidebar completely formatted
correctly. I make certain that the "Keep Source Formatting" button is
checked at the bottom. When I insert the slides into the main document
however, I lose all the formatting of the fonts. (In my case the fonts on
the original slides were white and a particular size - once inserted they are
converted to black, changed to a different font, and resized.) The
background formatting transfers however. Is there a way to insert a slide
from another presentation and have it stay EXACTLY the same? I have tried
transferring the files by cutting and pasting and still have the same problem
with the fonts.

If you could email me the target presentation and the slides you're
inserting, I'd love to try to reproduce this problem here. What you're
describing definitely shouldn't be happening, but I wonder if it has
something to do with the new light 1-dark 1 / light 2-dark 2 backgrounds and
text colors in the theme colors.

Were the slides created in PPT 2007 or 2003?

My email address is echos at indy dot net. If you do email the files, please
include the text of this thread so I can recall what it is I'm looking at!
Thanks.
