OK, I got new black ink, and the 740 dreamed up new ways to stall. Got
my green light blinking and my paper light steady red. Software seems to
act like it should be printing.

Can you give a little more detail here. What happens when you push the paper
infeed button? Does it go through the motion of attempting to feed paper?

What do you mean ?
