Retaining original creation date when copying to CD

I am trying to copy digital audio files from my digital recorder to CD for
future use. The files on the recorder all show their original creation date.
However, when I copy to CD, all dates are changed to when I copy to CD.
Does anyone know how I can retain the original created dates and copy to CD?
