Resuming from Sleep disconnects Router

When I manually select Sleep, resuming makes my DVD burner disappear and
Windows cannot reconnect to the Internet-- ethernet connection to LAN with
router. Network connections need to be repaired every time. Only a reboot
will bring back the dvd burner. The other dvd rom drive is always available.
Automatic sleep (brief sleep) doesn't do this. Any ideas?

Mine does this as well...running HP 64-bit.

I'd like to know if there's a solution!
