Restoring Vista .bat file association

M

Micky Duncan

Hi,
For some reason double-clicking a .bat file now opens it in notepad instead
of running it. This happens too if I have a shortcut to it in .\Startup

Anyone know how to fix it? Thanks.

Hi,

Have you checked the registry entry here:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.bat (that's period - bat)

Should only be a default string with a value of batfile, with a subkey for
persistent handler containing a default string with a guid.
