Restoring the Registry on a different partition

Hi,

Actually I have a windows 2k machine which was running
fine, the root of this installation is C:. This
installation crashed, so I reinstalled win2k on E:, now I
have some programs installed in C: which have licences and
stuff, I have not taken a registry backup on C:. I have
not changed the file system on C:. Is there any way for me
to get my old registy into the new registry??

Iam in desperate need to do this, else I loose my sofwares
with licenses.

Looking forward to hear from you.

With Regards

Chances are slim to none. If you copied the software hive from the corrupt
install to the new install then the OS may not start at all. Not to mention
the possibly 100's of registry entries pointing to C:\ that would need to be
changed from C:\ to E:\ You may want to give the repair of the original
install another go.
