Restore possible only in safe mode

Hi folks,
I did what Rick suggested. It didn't work, but I eventually got an error
message which I translate back into (my broken...) english.
It says:
"The VSS system which is used for restoration does not work properly. Have a
look at the journal of events 0x81000202"
I tried to "googelize" the error message: some people have got the same
problem, but no real positive response.
Who can beat Google?

To reiterate the solution, boot to safe mode, and run 'sfc /scannow'
(press f8 on restart, during the 'black screen after the BIOS screen. Click
start orb, and type command.)

Hi Mark,
I did it, but to no avail.
This time, I got a message "The system restore coud not complete. An
unspecified error occurred during system restore.
Should I reformat my vsita drive? To be honnest, I'd rather avoid this.

Hi all,
Nothing working, I endeavored reinstalling Vista, without tweaking around
the register, nor using addtionnal programs to *supposingly* improve the
performance of my machine.
Believe it or not, Vista now work like a clock, a real neat clock work.
It sort of induces me to think that those who are insulting each other on
this forum because THEY think that Vista is a piece of crap, should be much
better off thinking that maybe they have done something wrong.
This is just a modest and factual remark from my part.
