First time post, hope I get this right.
A little about my system first.
I’m running XP Pro SP2
P4 2.26
1GB
120GB HDD
(10GB SYSTEM PARTITION AND REMAINDER FOR DATA)
DVDRW
DVD
About 6 months ago I started getting a lot of explorer.exe errors while I
was in Windows Explorer. It would just kick me out, refresh the desktop and
usually unload something from the system tray. I checked into this by going
to the usual sites, including Microsoft. Didn’t find anything definite so I
learned to live with it. Couple weeks ago my system started slowing down. I
noticed the hard drive was getting a little full on one of the partitions so
I cleaned up a bit. That helped. Now last week it really slowed down and I
couldn’t access my D: partition. Totally empty. 100% free. I had over
100GB on there. Attempted to restore, but it didn't.
Also, if I clicked on the start button for instance, it could take several
minutes to pop up. I again checked around the forums, etc to see if I could
dig anything up. Getting some help here and there but I wanted to see what
you thought about this.
Again, if you get a chance. I’m in a bind real bad.
