Restore and lsass.exe

I

ITAF

I have a Laptop and after installing Norton Antivirus pro,
my modem only ran at 21-31k. In addition, after being
online using Explorer for about 1 minute, my computer gets
a warning: C:\Windows\system32\lsass.exe status code
1073741819]. And then shuts down.
I was able to send this error notice to MS before my
computer got the warning and shut down.
Questions:
1. What happens to these error reports to MS? Do they send
me back an answer? If not, how do I get the answer to why
this is happening?
2. What does lsass.exe do? Its only 12kb.
3. Who do I go to for help? My WinXP home was oem from
Fujitsu and MS says talk to them. They don't seem to have
tech support for software pre-installed [at least I can't
find it. Anyone know where this is?
4. Is NAV responsible for this conflict or is this a
coincidnece? I uninstalled NAV 2004 and the problem
remains.

Anyone have any ideas? I currently can not use the modem
on my laptop.
Thanks

This is because your PC is infected by Sasser worm. Download removal tool from Symantec or from Microsoft website(Sasser worm removal tool).RUn this utility & afterwards download patch for this from Microsoft website.

Contd from prev. msg..
First you need to End Task avserve.exe, avserve2.exe from Task Manager. Then do search for thes programs & delete it.The go to registry by clicking Start->Run->type REGEDIT->OK. Then follow this path in registry -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run & on right side- "avserve2.exe"="%Windir%\avserve2.exe". Delete this key on the right side & restart your computer OR IF CANNOT DO THAT CONTACT PC ssupplie

BE CAREFUL IF YOU DO ANY SMALL MISTAKE YOUR COMPUTER MIGHT NOT WORK.IT IS LEFT AT YOUR DISCRETION

1: Error reports act much like surveys, there is no reply
but if enough error reports are submitted with the same
problem, MS realizes that there must be an issue and
works on an update. There is a new update for IE 6 that
will (after an error report is sent) take you to the
support page to explain why the error happened and how to
resolve it.

2: Local Security Authority Service
Description: Windows Local Security Authority Server
Process handles Windows security mechanisms. It verifies
the validity of user logons to your computer or server.
Technically, the software generates the process that is
responsible for authenticating users for the Winlogon
service.

In laymans terms, you need it...do not delete it. (A
hint, google is a very good resource when you need to
find out what things do, just google the file name.)

3: When MS sells the software to the OEM's they also give
them the ability to reconfigure that software to work
especially with the computer they are installing it in,
so they agree to take over warranty support. You can
obtain support with MS for a fee of $35/incident that is
a flat fee and they will work with you as long as it
takes until the issue is completely resolved and if for
some reason they can't they will refund the money. A side
note, if it is a virus issue you are having, they will
fix it for free.

4: The NAV settings could be too high, the more barriers
you put up the slower your computer is going to be. For
instance, if you are already scanning incomming email,
there is no need to scan outgoing email as well, it is
just an extra process that eats up ram.
