Resizing the DOS window & fonts

Ever since I installed PC Anywhere 10.5 on my WinXP
laptop, my default DOS window has become a tiny 2"x1"
window, with font size 3. I can change the settings for an
individual window, but I don't know how to change back the
default settings to the original ones.

Try this:
Click in the left top corner of the window, choose Properties/Font, pick the
font you want and then press OK. It will ask you if you want to modify
shortcut that started this window, do so and it should work next time...
Repeat the same thing for Properties/Layout.

Thank you for your suggestion. However, this does not
address the issue. I know how to change the settings for a
particular shortcut, but not HOW TO RESTORE THE DEFAULT
SETTINGS for DOS windows. When I type "cmd" the miniature
window still appears.

Thanks

Ok, try this: start>run>type 'cmd' and enter. Click on top left corner and pull
down the menu. Click properties and make your preferred settings. Click ok and
you'll get a prompt with two choices, choose the second option to save future
properties with this window. That should affect the default settings for DOS
windows.
