Resizing system tray

Long story short, new motherboard, reloaded graphics drivers (from NF1 to NF2). My profile (1 of 3) works fine except my system tray is ~15-25% taller (stretched), than the other two profiles. All of the tray icons look funny. I've never seen the clock have both the time & weekday displayed simultaneously. This is not on the other two profiles. What gives & how can I get it back (down)

Right click the taskbar and unlock it. Position the mouse
at the very edge and drag it to normal height. You can
then lock it back up if you wish. And yes, when the
taskbar is 2 stories high the date/day is displayed.

I didn't say my system tray was double in size. I very specifically wrote it was ~15-25% taller (stretched). The Icons don't won't get larger when you double the tray size either. So it's not your typical easy answer here

I could still use your help or someone else's. Please re-read my first message and see what else might cause this. I've tried icon size changing which actually worked but then all of my icons throughout all of windows got too darn small. It's just my profile (administrator) that was afflicted

Have you tried unlocking the task bar and dragging?

Sorry about the "typical easy answer".

The icon size in the tray area are actually controled or
affected by the size of the Active Title Bar settings in
your display properties. I think that the normal size is
25 but I'm not sure. On my Win2K machine here they are set
at 18 and on my collegue's machine on XP Pro French it's
25. If I set the Active Title bar on his machine to 35 the
icons gets bigger and not good looking and it's as if the
task bar is, like you say, ~15-25% taller (stretched) to
accomodate the icons size.

Yea! That was it! I've tried the tray resizing option already, but the trick was to get the font size down to 8, apply & close it . Then everything gets reduced. Then I went back in and bumped up the font to 10 and it's about right. If you go up to 11, it bumps the tray height up enough to bring back the day of the week & the time (stacked on top of each other)

Anyhow I had to play around to get it calmed down. The Icons look a little small now, but I'm happier

Thank you, Bunny man out..........................
