Resizing PPT graphics

Don Niall

Hi, Is there an effective way to resize a PPT created
graphic composed of multiple boxes (with text), arrow
flows etc? I created a detailed graphic, grouped, and
tried to re-size .. However it doesn't work particularly
well as text in particular remains the same font size. I
recall in previous PPT versions (not Office 2000) the
resize function worked really well ....

Hi Don,

which PowerPoint version are you using?

The following "trick" should be possible: Cut the (grouped) graphic and
re-insert it using "Edit - Paste special", choose "Image" (NOT "bitmap") as
file format. This will insert a WMF file into your slide, which you can
re-size as a whole, including re-sizing the text. If you need to edit the
single objects in your graphics, use the ungroup function.

Kind regards,

Don,

If there's no text involved, you can simply group all the shapes you
want to resize; then when you drag the selection handles, they'll all
resize proportionally.

Text won't resize, alas. If all the text is the same size, you can
leave the resized group selected and use Format, Font or the formatting
toolbar to set a new text size for all the text at one whack.

Otherwise, I'd go with Ute's suggestion (or try it using Enhanced
Metafile as the Paste Special option)

Hello,

PowerPoint doesn't provide the functionality that you are looking for
without resorting to VBA or add-ins.

If you (or anyone else reading this message) think that it's important that
PowerPoint provide options for resizing text when shapes/groups are resized
(without having to resort to VBA or add-ins), don't forget to send your
feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions)
