I mistakenly reset the prnt scrn button to open the sound recorder by
mistake. How smart is that!! How do I get it back? Thanks for your help.

If Windows is controlling the keyboard settings then open the Keyboard
icon in Control Panel. Click the Key Settings tab.
Click the Restore defaults button, Apply, OK.

IF the keyboard is managed via 3rd party software, then you'll need to
open that software to reset the keyboard.

OR, as a last resort, use System Restore to rollback the system to the
time just before you changed the action of prnt scrn. However, if
updates were applied after this restore point is used, then you'll have
to reapply them.

Can you recall how you did this?

Depending on your keyboard, the software that comes with it (e.g. Logitech
or Microsoft keyboards) have a configuration utility usually, to assign
certain functions to keys. Try the utility and see if it has options for
re-assigning functions to Print-Screen key. It might be accessible from
the Start Menu or from Control Panel > Keyboard.

It may have a button that just restores the defaults, with one click (the
Microsoft "Intellitype" software does, but from what I can see you can't
reassign the PrintScr key with Intellitype on MS Keyboards.

Another suggestion: - read the manual for your keyboard.
