Reset PIN on HP LaserJet 4730xm MFP - HowTo ?

Hi there,

I got trouble with a HP LaserJet 4730xm MFP - somebody at the
customers site entered a PIN -
now that "somebody" left the company.
Is it possible to reset the lost PIN ?

have you tried a cold reset?

if you do a cold reset you will louse all of the settings on the
unit.

first try loging in to the priter through the embedded web server. in
one of the catgories under settings you should see smpething that will
allow you to change the PIN. if you leave it empty it is the same as
no PIN. If that dosn't work do a clod reset. (last resort) you will
lose all settings including network settings, paper types, all data
sending info ect. The only thing that will stay is the paper size.

Thanx so far...
I tried all of the stuff You told me - nothing worked...8-(...
I contacted HP - they told after some diags that the customer has to
replace the formatter,
firmware and HDD.
