Reset password

Hi,

We must change the domain account password every 90 days.
Everything is working well but on Windows xp, it reset all passwords
(Internet Explorer ...) even if passwords were saved.
We don't have that problem on Windows 2000. Why?

Thanks for your response.

Maybe because you're RESETTING the password instead of CHANGING it. There's
a difference, you know...

What's the difference between RESETING and CHANGING ?
The first time, we have forced users to change your password.
But in 90 days, users change their password.

Oh but there IS a difference between changing and reseting a user's
password. If you do it through CTRL+ALT+DEL > Change Password then you don't
lose any of the IE passwords or other private information, and most
importantly you don't lose your EFS decryption key!

All this information is presented to you clearly in a pop-up warning message
when you do it the other way, i.e. RESETTING it, via Local Users and Groups.
Try it, you'll see the difference.
