reset default HTML editor in Internet Explorer

Hi all,
Can someone please tell me how to set(reset!) to the default HTML editor in
Internet Explorer (presumably notepad?!).
An html editor I downloaded and use occasionally has "mugged" IE, putting
itself as the default editor but I don't want it to be the default to view
the source code (I cannot change the settings from this program and would
prefer not to remove it as I use it occasionally).I tried via menu tools>
internet options> programs but this only seems to change html editor for
email program and not IE.
I look forward to your help! Many thanks,

Well thanks for the reply Vincenzo, but I don't think this is the
solution(?).In the list of HTML editors from the menu internet options I
already have notepad and word included and yet when I highlight either of
these and apply it makes no difference as the other HTML editor still views
the sourcecode and so remains the default editor when I do not want it too.
It is listed in that menu box and I would like to remove it.

Can someone please suggest another approach or solution to try ? (I have
emailed the support at this html editor but have had no reply and this editor
has no supplied help files with it!).

Vielen dank, merci beaucoup, and thank you Ramesh!
I followed your advice and now am back to using notepad as the default
sourcecode viewer in IE, as I wanted.
I managed to navigate through and use the slightly scary(?) regedit
procedure (scary as making inadvertent mistakes in there could be regretable
for the inexperienced operator that I am; but it worked and I got away with
it and may have learnt something along the way!).
Thanks also to Vincenzo for your support.

Before I leave..... I have another query which is about starting IE:
When I switch my computer on and then go and open IE it won't dial up/connect.
So, I open OExpress which opens the connection box and establishes my
broadband internet connection from there and then I open IE.
So how do I get to just start straight from IE and get the dial up box to
appear there and connect directly from IE?
I hope you can help me fix this also, regards,

Hi RPD,

I believe you need the info on setting the default view source editor?
See the last part of the article which explains it:

1. In Control Panel, start the Internet Options tool.
2. On the Connections tab, click Always dial my default connection.
3. Click OK.

Hi again Ramesh,
Thanks for your reply & advice on how to connect with IE. However when I
set the radio button in the connections tab to always dial my default and
either click OK or apply it refuses to make this change! Can you please offer
further advice and help on this, thanks,
