Rescue Disk for XP to Fix Missing Ntldr Error

D

dw3284

I have two systems and one of them has a
currupted/missing ntldr on my primary boot disk. I went
out and purchased norton system works and the first step
to recover was to create a set of Emergency Disks from my
other system and then use those disks to recover the
ntldr. However, when I insert the my XP CD I don't see an
option to create Emergency Disks.

Bottom Line Question... How do I create Emergency Disks
for XP?

You need to copy ntldr and ntdetect.com from xp cd:
1.If necessary, change the boot order in BIOS to boot from cd
2.Insert XP cd and restart your computer
3.When given option to Press any key to boot from cd, do so
4.When you are given the first option to Repair, press R to enter Recovery
Console
5.Press the number identifying Windows installation, usually 1
6.Enter the administrator password if you have one; otherwise, press enter
7.Enter copy D:\i386\ntldr C:\
8.Enter copy D:\i386\ntdetect.com C:\
9.Remove xp cd and type exit to restart
