I have built a database which uses forms to open certain
reports using a button that the user clicks to open the
report. Is there a way to get some kind of a pop up when
the user clicks the button so that he/she has to enter a
password in order for the report to open?

Sure, you could build a password structure.

Why not just use Access's built-in security? The users will log in and then
only have access to what they are allowed to see.

You can password protect a single form or report
