Replacing Corrupted Default Personal Folder

As it happens sometimes, my pst got corrupted & even though I could recover
the items from my work computer, the personal file itself must corrupted on
the structure because whole fields "appear" blank on the Outlook lists
although the data is there when you open the item (ie: due date, categories),
it even shows the folder names truncated (Personal Fol-, Journ-).
Is there a way to fix this? I've run the scan file several times, deleted
all the items & resync with my PPC, with the same result.
FYI, my PC is laptop running Vista Home, work computer is XP, everyone uses
Outlook 2003. Items are Contacts, Tasks, Calendar & Notes. I don't sync
e-mails & there's none on the laptop, at work they're handled by Exchange.

You can create a new pst-file via File-> New-> Outlook Data File...
Once created you can move your items to the new one.

Thanks for the reply, Roady. Let me tell you what I've tried since my last
post:
* Created new pst files from my backup, all data there is fine.
* Copied those files to Outlook's default directory.
* Opened those files on Outlook, previously "missing" fields are now showing.
* Created new empty personal folder & set it up as default after removing
e-mail rights from original Personal Folder.
* Copied items from backup pst files into brand new one. Everything was
fine with the data.* Ran the repair feature with the original Office CD's.

The "but" remains. My data looks ok now, but the folder list remains
chopped (not all at the same level, sometimes in the middle of a letter) so
there's something wrong with Outlook itself. I'll try reinstalling it next,
see if that fixes it. If this is just cosmetic I can live with it, but I'm
afraid something is still corrupted & the data will get messed up again.

Any ideas?
