Repairing XP SP2 without unistall info :-(

You are in a situation where you have to listen to that scumbag called
IVEE who thinks everybody should "stop posting useless dribble" so that
he can give you COPY & PASTE of useless links, or you listen to us who
have gone through this process since XP was released in 2001.

As far as time framework is concerned, you have reached a stage where a
complete reinstall is the only way. Repair install will do the trick
but I honestly believe that it is time to do a clean install so that all
the crap that has built up in your system is cleared. It will
definitely take less than a week - then amount of time you have already
spent listening to that idiot IVEE.

Where do I find the plugin list? >

There are two lists for add-ons, which can be found on the IE
toolbar>Tools>manage add-ons. One is an active, current list, the other is
a list of items that have been used. As you scroll down each, you will see
on the right side of the viewing pane an option to update them, on the left
an option to enable/disable.
So, it seems we are on the same page for that. Try updating Java Runtime.
But since I haven't been able to create a slipstreamed SP2 CD I will
end up with plain XP after the repair, right, and must run SP2 too)?

Yes, sorry to say..but that's where the slipstream will help if you are able
to create one.

Another thought, and this may have been asked and answered already, but for
the 2 computers that are in question, have you made sure that they have
admin rights?

And I know you said all security settings were okay, but just to double
check..have you gone to security>custom and set all pertinant activex
controls to either prompt, or enable?

And, while I'm thinking about it, go to tool>IE options>advance
tab>security, and check all the 'allow activex to run' boxes.
