Rendering of combo boxes in terminal server

Has anyone had problems with combo boxes under terminal server.
I am getting multi-column combo boxes showing no data in the first column
and single-column combo boxes showing data with background color only, even
though the data is actually there (confirmed by making a selection).
Anyone know the cause/cure ???
Database works flawlessly if connected directly to network.

There are know issues with combo boxes using A2003 with SP3.
If you think this might be the problem, there is a hot-fix available.
