My Startup box in msconfig is chock full of items that have remained after I
have uninstalled the application that is responsible for them.Is there a way
that I can get rid of them? TIA.

Alan, try going to Start>Run type: regedit click Ok. Navigate to
Hkey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run, Run
Once etc click each run folder and look in
the rt pane for those entries you want to remove. rt click on each one
and choose delete.

I'm afraid this doesn't help. The only entries there are the ones I want to
keep-the checked ones in mscofig. It's the unchecked ones I want to remove.
