Removing Unknown Device in Device Manager Software Issue

Mike

I have 6 unknown Devices in Device Manager that I believe
are a result of a software issue (in safe mode they do not
appear, and ALL PC functions are normal.) This happened
after attempting to do a data transfer to one PC (B) to
another (A), both with different hardware configurations,
when I removed one harddrive (B) and placed it in PC A.
Accidentally, I booted to the wrong hardrive. I now
presume that XP tried to install hardware from PC A to PC
B. Now that harddrive B is back in PC B it shows Unknown
Devices (that do not exist in this hardware profile), and
I cannot remove them. Please Help.

Mike rambled on in microsoft.public.windowsxp.hardware:

Can they be removed in safe mode?
